Electronics Industry Veteran Joins New SPI Westek Leadership Team
September 26, 2003 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Anaheim, Calif. — Static Prevention Inc. DBA SPI Westek announces that Tom Seratti has joined the company.
Effective October 6, Seratti will assume the position of president and chief operating officer of SPI Westek. Seratti, a 22-year electronics industry veteran, was most recently director of sales with Contact East, one of the largest national electronics manufacturing supplies distributor and subsidiary of StanleyWorks of New Britain, Conn.
Prior to Contact East, Seratti was vice president of Marshall Industries' Production Supplies and Test division. Under Seratti's leadership, this Marshall division was the largest production supplies and test equipment distributor in North America. In late 1999, Avnet Electronics Inc. acquired Marshall Industries, including the Production Supplies and Test division. Avnet management requested that Seratti continue to lead the organization, renamed Avnet Production Supplies and Test (PSAT). PSAT was subsequently acquired in July 2002 by The StanleyWorks and combined with Stanley's Contact East/Jensen Specialty Tool Division.
Seratti's arrival at SPI Westek occurs in the wake of the sudden February passing of long-time SPI Westek president Douglas Chesleigh. Founding SPI Westek investor and board member, Dean Gittleson, assumed day-to-day leadership responsibility and headed the search for a new president. With Seratti on board, Gittleson will retain his responsibilities as SPI Inc. board chairman and chief executive officer.
SPI Inc. was founded in 1984 as one of the industry's original electrostatic discharge (ESD) products manufacturers. For more information, visit www.spiwestek.com.
