Nu Visions Implements Valor's NPI Assembly Solution
September 22, 2003 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Lake Forest, Calif. and Springfield, Mass. — Valor Computerized Systems announces the sale of its Trilogy 5000 next-generation new product introduction (NPI) engineering software solution to Nu Visions Manufacturing LLC.
The initial order is valued at US $250,000 at the corporate Springfield manufacturing plant.
Trilogy 5000 enables Nu Visions to validate incoming BOM (Bill of Material) and AVL (Approved Vendor List) files on a job-by-job basis, crucial to ensuring a streamlined CAD-to-assembly process. Trilogy 5000 automatically uploads the validated BOM/AVL files into Nu Visions' existing ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) to reduce erroneous and time-consuming manual entries for an improved procurement cycle, while taking the current inventory and resources into account for a faster and enhanced assembly preparation process.
By including Valor's best-in-class DFM (Design for Manufacturability) verification tools, as part of the chosen Trilogy 5000 product platform configuration, Nu Visions is able to extend the range of engineering services to its customer base, by providing high-end design verification services based on pre-defined manufacturing constraints to effectively reduce revision spins.
Nu Visions' assembly lines will be optimized using the Manufacturing Process Simulation (MPS) technology of Trilogy 5000, which includes industry-leading line balancing algorithms, based on accurate assembly machine kinematics and grouping technology, designed to reduce machine changeover times and assembly line downtime.
In line with Nu Visions' paperless working environment, Trilogy 5000 provides a Documentation Editor, which integrates to Nu Visions' internal MES system (Manufacturing Execution System) to generate customizable machine handling instructions down to the factory floor and in accordance with the prepared resource plan. Nu Visions currently uses personal computers at every assembly workstation for viewing process sheets, data collection, SPC and real-time WIP tracking.
Nu Visions provides customers with customized total manufacturing solutions, which include circuit design, board design from schematics, mechanical and product design, sourcing and procurement, prototype and volume board assembly, system assembly, design and implementation of product testing, warranty and repair services.
