Texas Instruments Adopts Mentor Graphics Hi-Speed USB On-the-Go Intellectual Property
August 28, 2003 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Wilsonville, Ore. and Dallas — Mentor Graphics Corp. has adopted its Hi-Speed USB On-The-Go (OTG) Intellectual Property (IP) by Texas Instruments (TI), the world leader in digital signal processing and analog technologies.
Mentor Graphics is the fastest growing provider of USB IP and, with its Hi-Speed OTG solution, is enabling the highest bandwidth connectivity in power- and performance-limited portable devices.
The OTG supplement to the USB 2.0 specification provides portable devices, such as mobile phones, PDAs, digital cameras and MP3 audio players with a cost-effective way of communicating without the need of a host PC. OTG-enabled devices can connect directly to each other in order to share data as well as to support the connection of traditional peripheral devices, such as keyboards, printers and even speakers.
Mentor Graphics is a leader in USB IP, ensuring that the IP is compliant by creating reference designs that are validated against the standard just like any other USB product. Failure to provide pre-certified IP solutions, or relying on other customer designs to prove certification, could require weeks or months of extra effort in order to meet the proper level of compliance to the industry standard. Mentor Graphics, however, provides pre-tested, certified IP cores that ensure its customers of a smooth certification process for their designs. Texas Instruments Inc. provides innovative DSP and analog technologies to meet our customers' real world signal processing requirements.
