Agilent First to Offer Worldwide, Fully Conformant ISO 17025 Calibration Services for Complex Electronic Test Instruments
August 8, 2003 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Palo Alto, Calif. — Agilent Technologies Inc. announces that it is the first to offer worldwide, fully conformant ISO 17025 calibration services for complex electronic test instruments.
This latest addition to Agilent's portfolio of calibration services enhances Agilent's ISO 17025-compliant service centers by providing more accurate measurement information than is available with traditional calibration procedures. Test instruments calibrated to ISO 17025 help customers increase production yields, optimize resources, and ensure compatibility with products manufactured elsewhere.
The ISO 17025 international standard governs calibration laboratory operations and procedures, as well as the data reporting of the calibration services they provide. Calibration is a service in which instrument performance is measured and compared against known reference standards to verify accuracy. Many calibration laboratories follow ISO 17025 operational procedures, but only a few offer fully conformant ISO 17025 calibration services, which include detailed measurement uncertainty information in the calibration results report.
Agilent's ISO 17025 conformant service is the first such service for complex electronic instruments brought to market on a global scale. Agilent's existing worldwide network of 28 calibration service centers follow ISO 17025 procedures for calibration laboratory operation. Of these, an unmatched 21 have also been accredited by ISO 17025-approved accrediting agencies. Agilent's ISO 17025-compliant calibration services are competitively priced, typically costing only 12 percent more than similar, non-compliant services provided by Agilent.
