Schneider Electric Places Major Follow-on Order with Tecnomatix
August 5, 2003 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Herzlia, Israel — Tecnomatix Technologies Ltd. announces that Schneider Electric has signed a new contract with Tecnomatix worth more than US $700,000 to deploy eMPower products in seven sites around the world.
The order from Schneider Electric, a leading power and control specialist devoted to the distribution and control of electricity, is the latest in a series of investments in Tecnomatix MPM solutions totaling more than US $2.2 million over the last three years.
The deployment will include eM-Planner, for assembly process definition and costing; eM-Work Instructions, for work instruction data preparation; eM-Report, for generation of product documentation; and eBOP-Browser for collaboration and eM-Publisher for printing of documentation. Operating within a collaborative environment, the tools will enable Schneider's manufacturing to standardize industrial engineering and create first-time-right processes while also reducing time-to-market and costs.
Tecnomatix eMPower solutions will be used in all stages of product/process lifecycle. In pre-planning stages for new lines, they will validate marketing strategies, evaluate how marketing requests impact manufacturing processes, evaluate costs and resources, validate various assembly scenarios, and optimize the impact of product variants on process planning. In the process definition stage, the new eMPower tools will help define operation planning and resources, validate assembly sequences and workplaces design factory flow simulation, and improve plant layout. Within existing lines, the new tools will help optimize existing resources and flow simulation.
Tecnomatix Technologies Ltd. is the driving force in Manufacturing Process Management (MPM). For more information, visit www.tecnomatix.com.
