SMTA to Offer Vendor Shows and Chapter Training Programs
August 4, 2003 |Estimated reading time: 2 minutes
Minneapolis — The SMTA is offering three upcoming tabletop Vendor Shows and two co-located Chapter Training Programs (CTPs).
The Vendor Shows are one-day networking events designed to showcase industry suppliers' products, and the CTPs are one-day technical events that feature a single instructor to address the latest information on a particular technology.
The West Penn SMTA Vendor Show will be held in conjunction with a CTP on Friday, September 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel Pittsburgh in Monroeville, Pa. The CTP will feature Phil Zarrow of ITM Consulting on "Troubleshooting the SMT Assembly Process." Zarrow will also deliver the Keynote Presentation. The exhibit fee is $350, which includes a 6' table, basic electric, company sign, directory listing, attendee list, lunch and CTP registration; and the registration for the CTP alone is $115/$175 for SMTA members/non-members.
This CTP is intended to provide the participant with an understanding of the most common SMT assembly problems. Vendor- and design-related problems will be presented. A step-by-step investigation of the assembly process with related problems and remedies will help the participant achieve high-yield manufacturing. Workmanship standards will also be discussed. This is intended for those involved in the manufacturing of SMT circuit board assemblies; manufacturing, process, design, test and quality engineering personnel; as well as management who are involved in the design or production of surface mount or mixed technology assemblies.
The Dallas SMTA Vendor Show will be held on Friday, October 3, at the Addison Conference Center in Addison, Texas, from noon to 5 p.m. Although no co-located CTP will be held, the event will feature several technical sessions. Exhibit fees are $350 through August 31 and $400 after August 31, which includes a 6' draped table, basic electric, company sign, directory listing, attendee list, lunch and entrance to the technical sessions.
The Ohio Valley SMTA Vendor Show will be held in conjunction with a CTP on Friday, October 17, at the Northeast Conference Center in Westerville, Ohio, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The CTP will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon on "Current SMT Assembly Issues" (speaker TBD). Admission to the Vendor Show and lunch are free to all CTP attendees. Exhibit fees are $295 through August 31 and $395 after August 31, which includes a 6' table, basic electric, company sign, directory listing, attendee list and lunch.
Attendees of the vendor shows only are admitted free, and a form is available at the top of the Vendor Days page of the smta.org Education section to register in advance. Also visit the Vendor Days and Chapter Training pages of the smta.org Education section for more information and secure registration.
The SMTA membership is a network of professionals who build skills, share practical experience and develop solutions in electronic assembly technologies and related business operations. For more information, visit www.smta.org.
