IPC Names New Director of Market Research

Northbrook, Ill. — IPC — Association Connecting Electronics Industries announces that Sharon Starr has been named its director of market research.
In her new position, Starr will oversee all industry statistics and market research activities, conduct qualitative and quantitative business-to-business research and manage special studies through survey development, participant recruitment, data analysis and report preparation. Starr is also responsible for all activities associated with IPC's Technology Market Research Council.
Starr was most recently the manager of strategic marketing at Underwriters Laboratories Inc. in Northbrook, Ill., where she also served as the company's marketing communications group leader, market development specialist and corporate manager of planning. Prior to Underwriters Laboratories, Starr was the director of marketing and communications at the Illinois CPA Society.
Starr has a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University. She also holds dual citizenship in the U.S. and the Republic of Ireland.
