Vishay Electro-Films Inc. Awarded Qualified Supplier Status by Raytheon UK
July 15, 2003 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Malvern, Pa. and Glenrothes, Scotland — Vishay Intertechnology Inc.'s Electro-Films division has been awarded Qualified Supplier Status by Raytheon Systems Ltd.'s Power and Control division.
Raytheon's Power and Control division designs, develops and manufactures a wide range of integrated electronic assemblies, systems and subsystems. Vishay Electro-Films manufactures thin-film components and networks on ceramic and silicon, including capacitors, inductors and microwave components.
Raytheon Systems Ltd. developed the Qualified Supplier Program to identify vendors that consistently supply products of such high quality that they can forego the receiving inspection process and be sent directly to stock. To qualify for the program, each supplier has to provide at least 10 delivered lots in the previous year with no rejects at the receiving inspection department.
The Qualified Supplier Status awarded to Vishay Electro-Films reaffirms the company's successful recovery from a fire that shut down its Warwick, R.I., facility in February 2002. The Electro-Films division has met or exceeded pre-fire capacity for its full line of products, and is completing a new Warwick plant that will double its manufacturing capabilities.
Vishay is one of the world's largest manufacturers of discrete semiconductors (diodes, rectifiers, transistors, optoelectronics and selected ICs) and passive electronic components (resistors, capacitors, inductors and transducers).
