MEPTEC Appoints Executive Director

Mountain View, Calif. — MEPTEC (MicroElectronics Packaging and Test Engineering Council) has appointed Phil Marcoux as executive director.Marcoux has more than 30 years of involvement in the semiconductor industry as an engineer, CEO, entrepreneur and volunteer. During his industry career he participated in development, production and management roles. In 1981 he founded and was CEO of AWI, one of the first companies in the United States to specialize in SMT assembly and test. In 1992 he was a founder and CEO of one of the industry's first wafer level packaging companies, ChipScale. He was elected to and served on the Surface Mount Technology Council for 14 years.Some of the new programs under review are an executive level membership, packaging standards and registry, and expanded training programs.
MEPTEC (Microelectronics Packaging and Test Engineering Council) is a trade association of more than 500 semiconductor suppliers, manufacturers and individuals committed to enhancing the competitiveness of the back-end portion of the semiconductor business.
