West Haven, Conn. — Enthone, Inc., a Cookson Electronics company, received certification (N° 03.05.270256 PR) to the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001 specification for its Enthone España operation located in Barcelona, Spain.
OHSAS 18001 certification connotes that Enthone has well documented and understood management systems in place to enable its Spain operation to control and minimize its occupational health and safety risks to all employees and visitors, while improving overall performance. Previously, Enthone España received certifications to ISO 9000 and ISO 14000. It is the first Enthone business in Europe that currently holds all three certifications.
OHSAS 18001 certification at Enthone España involved an extremely detailed audit conducted by BVQI (Bureau Veritas Quality International). The actual audit process and auditor qualifications followed the general requirements as given for most international management system services, including those followed by the International Standards Organization (ISO). OHSAS 18001 was developed to be compatible with ISO 9001, ISO 9002 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environmental) management systems standards, in order to facilitate the integration of quality, environmental and occupational health and safety management systems.
