Universal Adds Product Support Status Tool to Web Site
May 12, 2003 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Binghamton, N.Y. — Universal Instruments Corp. has launched a new Product Support Status Tool on its Web site.
With this online tool, users can locate the support status of Universal Instruments products, along with important information about service and support coverage for Universal Instruments products.
To ensure Universal Instruments can concentrate its efforts on providing full support to customers with active equipment, all company products move through a product support life cycle. Within this life cycle there are active, standard, reduced and inactive support phases. Each phase carries with it a different degree of coverage for technical support, field service, product training, and replacement parts. On a product's last date of manufacture, the company evaluates the product to determine its progression through the different levels of the life cycle. By continually evaluating products and moving them to appropriate support levels, Universal Instruments can provide customers with the support they need for their current production machines.
Two versions of the Product Support Status Tool were created to provide users with up-to-date information about support status changes:
- Users can view a list of all active (currently manufactured) products by visiting the company's Web site at www.uic.com and selecting the "Product Support Status" link listed under the "Service & Support" column on the right.
- Users registered to MyUniversal (Universal Instruments' secure, customized Web site) can view a list of all products, regardless of support status.
In both versions, users can search for products by product code (for example, 4681) or product name (GSM Platform).
Universal Instruments Corp. is a global electronics productivity specialist, providing innovative circuit, semiconductor, and back-end assembly technologies and equipment, integrated system solutions, and process expertise to manufacturers in every sector of the electronics industry.
