AVX Corp. Announces Fourth Quarter and Year-End Results

Myrtle Beach, S.C. — AVX Corp. reported that net sales were $261.2 million in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2003 and $11 billion for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2003.
Before special charges of $2.9 million in cost of sales related to the completion of restructuring activities that were initiated during fiscal 2002, the net loss for the quarter ended March 31, 2003, was $11.1 million, or 6 cents per share. After special charges, the net loss for the quarter ended March 31, 2003, was $14 million, or 8 cents per share. The net loss for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2003 was $12.4 million, or 7 cents per share.
