Speakers from Europe, The Americas and Japan at International Conference on Lead-free Electronics

Brussels, Belgium -- An International Conference on Lead-free Electronics, jointly sponsored by IPC -- Association Connecting Electronics Industries and SOLDERTEC, will be held at the Conrad Hotel here from June 10 through 12, 2003.
The conference and workshop sessions will give a unique opportunity to learn about the latest research and developments in lead-free technology from keynote speakers from Europe, The Americas and Japan. The Head of Sustainable Resources at the European Commission, Marianne Klingbeil, will give the opening address to this two-day conference.Key industry experts will give presentations over the course of the two-day conference, including Ken Suetsugu, chief staff engineer at Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Suetsugu will present on environmental policy and lead-free development in Matsushita. Other speakers include Kay Nimmo, SOLDERTEC; Steve Andrews, DTI UK; Jan Kolsters, Philips; Eddie Hernandez-Sosa, HP; Rob Horsley, Celestica UK; Dongkai Shangguan, Flextronics, Keith Sweatman, Nihon Superior; and Vivek Gupta, Intel.
Experts such as Jennie Hwang from H-Technologies Group and John Lau from Agilent Technologies, will also hold workshop sessions on June 10. Some workshop topics include "Electronics Manufacturing with Lead-Free, Halogen-Free and Conductive Adhesive Materials"; "Lead-Free Interconnections -- Technology, Selection and Applications"; and "Reliability Issues for Lead-Free Solders."The Conrad International Hotel is located on the highly fashionable Ave. Louise. This hotel boasts many superb facilities including a newly opened Champneys health and fitness center and an outstanding restaurant. While in Brussels, it is an ideal opportunity to indulge in the local delicacies, such as beer, moules-frites, chocolates and waffles. Brussels has accessible train and air links to many parts of Europe.
