Indigo Systems Honored for Second Year for Human Resources Program
February 18, 2003 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Goleta, Calif. -- Indigo Systems' Human Resources Department received the top honor for the second consecutive year from the Santa Barbara Human Resources Association (SBHRA).
Debbie Horne, manager of human resources, and Victoria White, organization & employee development specialist at Indigo Systems, received the "Super Star" award at the annual SBHRA luncheon Wednesday, January 15, 2003. E. Tim Fitzgibbons, Ph.D. president and CEO of Indigo Systems, was the keynote speaker at this year's industry-wide awards ceremony.
Horne and White designed a management training and employee assessment program to meet the need for a fair and relevant appraisal system. The "CORE Toolbox," a Competency-based Organizational Recruitment and employee Evaluation process, was developed and tested over a two-year period at Indigo Systems. This "toolbox" assists managers in defining both the technical and performance/behavioral skills required in each position to create the job descriptions, create/define interview questions based on those skills, and assess each employee on the skills required for their position.
The CORE Toolbox benefits the applicant, who is assessed fairly during the recruitment process and it benefits management by providing a reliable tool for new-hire interviews and employee reviews.
Debbie Horne has a master's degree from Antioch University in organizational management with an emphasis in human resources. Victoria White has a bachelor's degree in communications/management from Antioch University.
