Agilent's Kamran Firooz to Lead OSS Division
February 11, 2003 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Loveland, Colo. -- Kamran Firooz, vice president and long-time general manager of Agilent's Manufacturing Test Business Unit, has accepted the position of vice president and general manager of its Operations Support Systems Division (OSSD), effective March 3.
Jack Trautman, senior vice president and general manager of the Automated Test Group, which includes manufacturing test and semiconductor test, immediately began the task of finding Firooz's replacement and will make an announcement when that process is completed.
Agilent remains committed to the success of its customers, and continues to invest in its portfolio of automated board test technologies. For instance, Agilent will introduce several new automated optical, X-ray and in-circuit test products at APEX in Anaheim, Calif., March 31 through April 2, 2003.
Firooz began his career in this business in 1974 as an R&D engineer, after graduating from Louisiana State University with a BSEE and from Ohio State University with an MS in computer science/computer engineering. He also holds an executive MBA from the University of Michigan. In his R&D days he was responsible for the lab team that created Agilent's flagship 3070 in-circuit test platform. He held several positions as product line manager and R&D manager for automated test products, served as the president and general manager of the Four Pi Systems acquisition, and later became general manager of the Manufacturing Test Division. He holds four patents.
