Vitronics Soltec Building New Facility
February 5, 2003 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
Oosterhout, The Netherlands -- Construction of a state-of-the-art facility for Vitronics Soltec has begun in Oosterhout, the Netherlands, not far from the company's present location.
The move was prompted by the company's continued growth and need for additional manufacturing, R&D, and training facilities. Even though the electronics manufacturing industry has been in a fairly deep recession since the middle of 2001, Vitronics Soltec has been growing its global market share. The new facility will mark the fourth location for the company since its founding in 1916 in Amsterdam.
The planned expansion is in part due to the introduction and ensuing popularity of Vitronics Soltec's selective soldering platform. Joining the company's product line as the "third tier" -- after wave and reflow soldering -- the successful new product line has increased the company's market share worldwide and necessitated a 60 percent space increase in the Oosterhout facility. Projected move in is fourth quarter 2003. The actual status of the construction can be followed on the Vitronics Soltec Internet site under "News."
Vitronics Soltec is the world's leading supplier of reflow, wave, and selective soldering technology, equipment, and applications know-how. For more information, visit www.vitronics-soltec.com.
