Machine Vision Products Issued U.S. Patent for CIMCIS
January 29, 2003 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
Carlsbad, Calif. -- Machine Vision Products Inc. (MVP) has been granted a U.S. Patent for its computer integrated manufacturing control and information system (CIMCIS).
CIMCIS allows manufacturers to monitor their processes in real time. For example, in printed circuit board assembly, CIMCIS can monitor each piece of equipment on the manufacturing line. In this instance, should the process become unstable or begin operating outside the operator's present required parameters, the system will send a signal that the monitored process is out control and corrective action must be taken. Once these actions are implemented, further errors and defects are eliminated.
CIMCIS capabilities include machine and line management, setup verification and feeder tracking, and material management and control. The product can be used in several applications, from bottling, medical, and textile to electronics manufacturing. Basically, anywhere a manufacturing process needs monitoring, CIMCIS can perform Machine Vision Products Inc. is an AOI company whose mission is to provide innovative products that help electronics manufacturers achieve higher yields, lower production costs, improve quality, and speed time to market.
