Amphenol Reports 2002 Fourth Quarter and Full Year Results

Wallingford, Conn. -- Amphenol Corp. reports that fourth quarter 2002 diluted earnings per share increased 41 percent to 52 cents compared to 37 cents per share for the 2001 period.
Sales for the fourth quarter 2002 increased 3 percent to $267 million compared to $260.3 million for the 2001 period. Currency translation had the effect of increasing sales by approximately $8.7 million in the fourth quarter 2002 compared to the 2001 period.
For the year ended December 31, 2002, diluted earnings per share was $1.85 compared to $1.95 per share for the year 2001. Sales for the year 2002 were $1 billion compared to $1.1 billion for the year 2001. Currency translation had the effect of increasing sales by approximately $14.4 million for the year 2002 compared to 2001.
