Igor Zavarine Appointed Senior Research Scientist, Enthone Inc.

West Haven, Conn. -- Igor S. Zavarine, Ph.D. has been appointed senior research scientist by Enthone Inc. a Cookson Electronics PWB Materials & Chemistry business.
Zavarine will be responsible for the research and development of a new generation lead-free tin, tin-lead, copper and other non-precious metal surface finishes used by the semiconductor and microelectronics industries.
Prior to joining Enthone, Zavarine was an R&D principal investigator and a member of the technical staff with the former Electroplating Chemicals & Services division of Lucent Technologies. While at EC&S, Zavarine's primary responsibility was the development of spectroelectrochemical tools (Raman, STM, UV-VIS) for fundamental understanding of the electrodeposition of lead-free alloys.
Zavarine received his Ph.D. in inorganic electrochemistry chemistry from Purdue University. During his studies at Purdue University, Zavarine was involved in a number of projects in electrochemistry, specifically the development of the UV-VIS-infrared spectroelectrochemical cell. He was a postdoctoral researcher at Columbia University where he worked on EPR spectroscopy of electrogenerated cation radicals.
Zavarine has authored 18 publications and has two patents pending. e is a member of The American Chemical Society (Inorganic Division), The Electrochemical Society and The American Electroplaters and Surface Finishers Society.
