Newport Opens New Precision Optics Manufacturing Facility

Irvine, Calif. -- Newport Corp. has opened a new 42,000 sq. ft optics manufacturing facility for the company's growing Newport Precision Optics (NPO) Business.
Located at 1931 Deere Avenue, Irvine, adjacent to the company's global headquarters, the new state-of-the-art facility is part of Newport's strategic investment in the precision optics business and will support the manufacture of standard and very high precision optic products.Over the last three years Newport has significantly expanded its optical manufacturing capability to become a global provider of precision optics to the semiconductor equipment, medical, aerospace and scientific markets. The precision optics product line includes devices such as collimators, beam expanders and spatial filters as well as optical components including spherical optics, aspheric optics, windows, mirrors, beam splitters, prisms, polarized filters, lenses and high performance thin film coatings for spectral ranges from 157nm DUV to infrared wavelengths.
Capabilities including computerized shaping, aspheric polishing, diamond turning, deterministic finishing and ion assisted coating have positioned Newport as a leader in the production of high-performance optics for OEM and end user applications. Newport optical technology can now be found on the production line and in equipment for the semiconductor equipment, biomedical, telecom/datacom, photonics, metrology and aerospace/defense markets.
