MagnaMouse Construction to Be Revealed at Electronica Trade Show
November 6, 2002 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Phoenix -- Duraswitch's MagnaMouse multi-directional switch technology will be on display under a metal overlay for the first time at electronica 2002 in Munich, Germany, November 12 through 14.
Germany-based Demmel AG (Hall C1 - Stand C1.368), a Duraswitch licensee that manufactures this enhanced construction, will be promoting this construction during the four-day event.
For the show Demmel, a leader in the fabrication of metal keypads, has adapted the MagnaMouse under a metal overlay in a full keyboard construction to demonstrate the advantages the product offers in kiosk applications. The metal overlay adds an additional layer of protection to an already robust product and provides it at a lower cost than other technologies.
This adaptation of the MagnaMouse technology adds enhanced features without eliminating any of the benefits. MagnaMouse offers OEMs a multi-directional cursor control that couples high reliability, and extreme durability with environmental sealability. Where trackballs require maintenance and touch pads frequently fail, Duraswitch's magnetically coupled, multi-directional actuator is a viable solution. MagnaMouse technology employs fewer parts than other controls and can easily be integrated into a panel, reducing manufacturing and assembly costs. Adding this innovative technology also gives OEMs a feature that will differentiate their products.
Demmel is part of the Demmel Group, an alliance of several companies: Demmel AG, Dyna Systems GmbH, Laser-Beschritfungs-Technik (LBT) GmbH & Co., and Angell-Demmel GmbH. For more information, visit www.demmel.de.
