SMTA Announces Annual Awards

The Founder's Award honors individuals who have advanced the SMTA as well as the electronics assembly industry. This year's Founder's Award will go to Tom Borkes, The Jefferson Project (Orlando, Fla.). Including chairing conference sessions, moderating panels, presenting at national and local events, serving on the Hutchins Grant Award Committee, and serving on the SMTA Board of Directors ('94-'97), with one term as vice president of technical programs, Borkes has been tireless in his support of the Association and industry.
West Warwick, R.I. and Moorestown, N.J. -- Advanced Interconnections Corp. presented its 2001 Distributor of the Year award for the Eastern Region to Interstate Connecting Components Inc.
