AIM Opens New OfficeAIM Inc. opened a sales and support office in the United Kingdom. AIM's European Business Manager, Andrew Clarke, who brings more than 21 years of experience in the electronics assembly industry, will manage the U.K. office. The office will market and provide technical support for the complete AIM line of electronic solders and chemicals throughout Europe and also will work in conjunction with AIM's European production facilities and distributors.
Glenbrook Receives PatentGlenbrook Technologies, a leader in developing X-ray inspection systems for quality assurance, has been awarded a fundamental patent for the integration of real-time X-ray inspection with the BGA/CSP rework process. The United States Patent #6,009,145 is said to help rework individual components on an assembled board to avoid problems such as nonuniform heating or solder flow discontinuities.
Multicore Solders RelocatesMulticore Solders, a Div. of Loctite Corp., will move their manufacturing, technical support and customer service operations to a new facility in Industry, Calif. The move is designed to increase solder paste production capacity, speed turnaround and enhance new product development. The two Loctite divisions, Dexter Electronic Materials and Multicore Solders, will share the California manufacturing facility. The new production operations will take up 4,000 sq. ft. of the facility and new production equipment will be added to double production capabilities.
Strategic Partnership AnnouncedSurface Mount Techniques, a supplier of SMT solder paste printing machines and the Service and Support Center, Rich Sales Co. in Dallas, announced a strategic partnership in which the Dallas-based Service and Support Center will provide SMT customers with technical and applications support and training. The center also will provide advanced operator and maintenance training on SMT's complete line of printers, and will stock spare parts and consumables for the companies' products.
