Global Semiconductor Market Forecasted to Rebound in 2002

"Despite the sales decline brought on by the excess inventory this year, the semiconductor market is still projected to grow from $149 billion dollars in 1999 to $283 billion by 2004, a compound annual growth rate of almost 14 percent," said Kirk Pond, Fairchild Semiconductor president, CEO and chairman of the board. "The industry has a 17 percent compound annual growth rate for the past 40 years and we expect that to continue for the foreseeable future despite periodic cycles.
NORCROSS, Ga. - Siemens Electronics Assembly Systems, Inc. has changed its name to Siemens Dematic Electronics Assembly Systems, Inc. following the merger of its parent company, Siemens Production and Logistics AG, with Mannesmann Dematic AG. The business goals and organizational structure of the company, a leading supplier of component placement systems and electronics assembly solutions, will remain unchanged.
