Stopping ESD
December 31, 1969 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
Staticide #2500, an electrostatic-dissipative clear coating, combines acrylic polymers with a semiconductor technology to provide permanent static dissipation, reportedly even under zero-humidity conditions. The semi-transparent coating is said to be usable on all nonporous insulated surfaces such as keyboards, computers, mice, oscilloscopes and workstations. In an aerosol spray can, it is suitable for cleanroom use and dries to the touch in minutes. It also meets Federal Standard E209 for zero particulation in cleanrooms, and is exempt from VOC reporting as an ESD aerosol product.
