Growth Must Be Managed
December 31, 1969 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
SAN ANTONIO - The prodigious growth in the contract manufacturing industry has led to stability difficulties for CMs. According to a recent report from Frost & Sullivan, managing growth is essential for CMs to maintain control of operations.
According to research analyst Adam Fries, CMs displaying vigorous growth in the industry are focusing on managing information flows through implementing IT systems and advancing their supply-chain capabilities. "Furthering the supply chain will offer CMs [additional] areas to reduce expenditures. Constantly improving efficiency is paramount to remaining competitive," said Fries.
Frost & Sullivan also presented its 1998 Market Engineering Leadership Awards to two companies that have made a positive contribution to the North American CM market. The Customer Focus Award was given to Manufacturers` Services Ltd., while the Competitive Strategy Award went to SCI Systems.
