Cisco Executive to Keynote Atlanta SMTA Expo

The Surface Mount Technology Association (SMTA) announced today that Mark Brillhart, Vice President, Technology and Quality, Cisco, would keynote on the state of the electronics industry at its 15th annual Atlanta SMTA Expo Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at the Gwinnett Civic Center.
Brillhart leads a global team of more than 500 employees worldwide responsible for delivering customer-driven quality and reliability solutions and infrastructure for Cisco products, including industry-leading testing tools and technologies for leading-edge ASICs, PCBs, optical devices, custom memory modules and complex interconnect technologies. Brillhart also leads Customer Value Chain Compliance and Green Engineering.
Brillhart joined Cisco in 1999, and has served as Director of Hardware Reliability, Senior Director of Component Quality and Technology and Vice President of Manufacturing Operations. Brillhart has driven numerous cross-functional teams and initiatives, and has also led the Technology Council Roadmap team and the Process Development team. In addition to his current responsibilities, Brillhart sits on Cisco’s EcoBoard and is a member of IEEE’s CPMT Society. Prior to Cisco, he held a variety of engineering and technical lead positions at HP, as well as research and development positions in the medical products industry. Brillhart has bachelor and master’s degrees in civil engineering from University of Illinois, along with a master’s in polymers from MIT, where he was the recipient of the NASA Graduate Research Award and a Department Graduate Fellowship Award. A widely published author and speaker on process and materials engineering, Brillhart has also earned 10 U.S. patents.
The Atlanta SMTA EXPO is a free, one-day event that features suppliers to the electronics industry displaying products and services for the high technology and surface mount markets, as well free technical presentations.
This must-attend event for electronics industry professionals from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. includes learning and networking opportunities such as free technical presentations throughout the day, lunch on the show floor, as well as a charity raffle with all proceeds to benefit Just People, a private, non-profit organization serving adults with developmental disabilities and mental illness.
