BTU International, Inc., a leading supplier of advanced thermal processing equipment for the electronics manufacturing and alternative energy markets, will exhibit at the S.E.E. show in Stockholm, scheduled to take place April 19th-21st at the Kista Expo Center. BTU will exhibit together with its Swedish representative, Haja, highlighting the PYRAMAX convection reflow oven.

BTU’s PYRAMAX convection reflow oven is the benchmark for performance in the industry.  The PYRAMAX features a maximum temperature of 400°C and a comprehensive menu of options. PYRAMAX systems, featuring BTU’s exclusive closed-loop convection technology, provide optimized lead-free processing for the ultimate in productivity and efficiency.

Additionally, Energy Pilot and RecipePro are features of BTU’s proprietary Wincon operating system.  BTU’s Energy Pilot software enables tremendous energy savings by dynamically adjusting oven settings during gaps in production. Powered by ECD, RecipePro is an integrated software module in the BTU Wincon operating system that is used to create starting recipes, thereby reducing set-up time.  Energy Pilot and RecipePro are available on new Pyramax ovens and can be retrofitted on older ovens by upgrading the Wincon software.   To learn more about the powerful features included in BTU’s Wincon software click here.

Solder in PCBA: Can’t Live Without It... or Can We?

02/17/2020 | Joe Fjelstad, Verdant Electronics
For most of its historical use in electronics, the solder alloy of choice was tin-lead, either an Sn60/Pb40 alloy or the Sn63/ Pb37 eutectic version of the tin-lead alloy. These two alloys were the workhorses of the industry. They were both well understood in terms of their processing and reliability—that is, until the advent of lead-free, a well-meaning but ill-conceived and poorly executed conversion, forced on the industry by the European Union in 2006.
