Last week, Bo Lybæk, CEO in GPV, and Martin Kjærbo, COO in GPV, visited all three of GPV’s electronics Operating Business Units (OBUs) in Slovakia. The three factories are located in Hlohovec, Nova Dubnica, and Piestany in close proximity to each other. Establishment of the new factory in Piestany is progressing according to plan and the factory is expected to be operational in Q1 2024.
“It was good to visit our three electronics factories in Slovakia. One of the objectives of this trip was to see how our new factory is progressing and discuss in detail the next steps prior to start of production. It is important for us to be able to serve our customers in their core regions, and we are confident that our strengthened operational presence in Slovakia will enhance our ability to serve our customers more efficiently,” says Bo Lybæk, CEO in GPV.
GPV Electronics SK in Piestany is still under establishment, with the aim of obtaining an occupational permit within Q1 2024, releasing the factory to GPV. In parallel, the factory is being equipped with furniture, the first machinery and work benches.
The leased building comprises of a total of 18,000 sqm, and GPV will initially use 11,000 sqm with the option of expanding further. The factory will be a fully equipped electronics facility with state-of-the-art SMT, THT and Box-build capabilities.
