Ellsworth Adhesives Europe, leading distributor of adhesives, specialty chemicals and adhesive dispensing equipment, is pleased to confirm its attendance at Matelec 2018 trade fair in Madrid, Spain.

Taking place in the Feria de Madrid Conference Centre from November 13-16, Matelec is southern Europe’s leading event for the electrical, electronic and telecommunications industries.

The theme for the 2018 edition of Matelec Industry is “transforming connectivity into industrial productivity” and will focus on how the introduction of innovative products can help adapt production environments to work within the new economic climate. Exhibitors will offer real solutions for growing and creating a sustainable future for businesses progressing towards a digital platform.

The Ellsworth stand at the trade show will display a range of materials designed for the electronic and electrical industries, such as cured material samples from leading brands such as Dowsil (Dow Corning) and Lord.

In addition to the material samples, Ellsworth Adhesives will showcase the impressive Kakuhunter SK-300SII Centrifugal Planetary mixer, which is designed to accommodate mixing and degassing of various materials regardless of viscosity. Manufactured in Japan, the SK-300SII is a highly popular choice for a cost-effective mixing solution of two component materials.

Visitors will have the chance to attend equipment demonstrations, including the Fisnar F4200N Compact Benchtop Dispensing robot which supports most light dispensing applications and guarantees a high-performance standard. This will be shown alongside the Dymax BlueWave 75 UV curing lamp, a spot-curing light which emits energy for light curing of adhesives, coatings and encapsulants.

With the trend of shortening lead-times within the material ordering process, and the frequency with which urgent orders for materials from the grey market are made, there is increased opportunity for the ingress of counterfeit materials. The situation is made far worse when a genuine shortage of materials in the supply chain occurs. The consequences of not being able to eliminate the risk of defects getting through into the market will be disastrous for individuals as well as for the company brand image, not to mention the associated costs of recovery. It is only a matter of time, unless something very significant changes.

As MRP and ERP functions follow computing trends and start to migrate into the cloud, a fundamental question is being raised as to whether these are still the right tools to use in today’s modern Industry 4.0 driven factory, or whether these need to evolve, be enhanced, or even replaced in order to meet the more extreme requirements of operational flexibility, as well as cope with volatile material availability in the market.
