MacDermid Alpha’s Electrolube to Present Two Keynotes on Resins and Coatings at IPC APEX EXPO

MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions, a global supplier of integrated solutions from our Circuitry, Assembly and Semiconductor divisions that provides unmatched capabilities in electronics design and manufacturing, is pleased to announce that Electrolube will be participating in two technical conference sessions at this year’s IPC APEX EXPO, held at the San Diego Convention Centre, California, from 25-27 January.

Phil Kinner, Global Business and Technical Director for Electrolube’s Coatings Division, will present the paper ‘Conformal Coatings: State of the Industry Versus State of the Art’ on Tuesday January 25th from 10am-12pm at S04, EM1.  Phil is well-known for his expertise in coating chemistry and will be sharing some of Electrolube’s latest data taken from a study comparing the condensation resistance performance of assemblies coated with state of the art materials to those used in the state of the industry materials.

Beth_Turner_300.jpgBeth Turner, Electrolube’s Senior Technical Manager, will present the paper entitled ‘Bio-Based Encapsulation Resins: Good for The Environment, Good for Your Environment’ from 8-9.30am on Thursday January 27th at S28, EM4. Electrolube’s drive towards achieving a more sustainable future also encourages customers to embrace implementing sustainable materials into production. Environmental credibility runs throughout the company from product packaging right through to product development and Beth will be talking about how Electrolube’s new range of bio-resins can not only impact on a company’s environmental credentials, but also on the lifetime and performance of devices.

During the show, Electrolube, part of MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions, will demonstrate its advanced technical capabilities to the US market by launching a ground-breaking new bio coating, the first of its kind globally. Electrolube’s new UVCLX bio coating is an unrivalled eco-friendly innovation that will transform the conventional use of coatings by the global electronics community. The first-to-market UV Cure Coating Xtra is formulated with 75% bio-organic content from renewable sources and is one of Electrolube’s most versatile, high-performance coatings yet for protecting electronic circuitry against the harshest of environments.  

Electrolube will also showcase the new GF600 two-part, liquid silicone thermal gap filler, supplied in a 32oz duo cartridge. GF600 provides excellent thermal performance and can be cured at room temperature or accelerated with heat. After curing, GF600 forms a low modulus elastomer, preventing the ‘pump-out phenomenon’. The low viscosity gap filler is easy to dispense and is soft and compliant for low stress applications. With extremely high thermal conductivity of 6.0 W/m.K and a wide operating temperature range from -50 to 200°C, the flame retardant GF600 is ideally suited to filling gaps and air voids,  even in the most delicate of devices with minimal stress.

José Servin Receives IPC Dieter Bergman Fellowship Award

The Dieter Bergman IPC Fellowship Award is given to individuals who have fostered a collaborative spirit, made significant contributions to standards development, and have consistently demonstrated a commitment to global standardization efforts and the electronics industry. José Servin has worked as an IPC member for more than 14 years in the development of the Electronics Assembly Norms. As a member of the IPC A-610 and J STD-001 working groups, he became chairman of IPC A-610G and J STD-001G Automotive Addendums that complements the norms for automotive industry since 2018.

Doug Pauls, Collins Aerospace, Receives Dieter Bergman IPC Fellowship Award

Doug Pauls holds a B.A. in chemistry and physics from Carthage College, Kenosha, Wisconsin, and a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He worked nine years for the Navy, eight years as technical director of Contamination Studies Labs, and 19 years at Rockwell Collins (now Collins Aerospace), in the Advanced Operations Engineering group, where he is a principal materials and process engineer. Doug was awarded the Rockwell Collins Arthur A. Collins Engineer of the Year Award in 2004.
