Companies in the electronics assembly business and related supply chains received design, quality, and other certifications recently, covering design, process control, environmental requirements, traceability, record retention, continuous improvement, management practices, goods control, and other factors. These companies can provide certified products to medical, aerospace, space, and military customers.
Lazer-Tech achieved MIL-PRF 55110 certification for its polyimide (GI) substrate for the United States Department of Defense (DOD). The company already has Mil-PRF-55110 for GF substrates. Lazer-Tech can provide PCBs with this certification and process PCBs with high layer counts for the medical, aerospace, and space business sectors; with 3 mil traces and spaces and blind and buried via holes up to 20 layers. Lazer-Tech has also completed the Controlled Goods Program (CGP), permitting possession or transfer of controlled goods in accordance with the US Government's Defense Production Act. They are also ITAR registered.
Express Manufacturing Inc. (EMI) received ISO 13485:2003 certification for design and process control, including environmental requirements, traceability, record retention, regulatory audits and management practices for medical devices. This standard ensures product quality and safety. For the past 27 years, EMI has provided services to many market segments including telecom, computer, medical, industrial control, defense/aerospace and instrumentation. EMI provides medical electronics turnkey services, warehousing the finished products and drop-shipping to end-users or OEM customers as instructed. In some cases, these medical electronics products are shipped directly to home-bound patients. When return or repair is needed, the products can be returned by the end-users or patients directly to EMI for repair and refurbishment. In addition to the receipt of the ISO 13485:2003 certification, EMI has been granted the update of the ISO 9001:2008 status.
TAIYO AMERICA INC., a subsidiary of Taiyo Ink Mfg. Co., ltd., completed testing of their S-200Wä thermal-cure and PSR-4100äWL (HD) photoimageable legend inks to CID A-A-56032, "Commercial Item Description - Ink, Marking, Epoxy Base," the predominant marking ink specification for military PCBs. Taiyo America had their most popular white legend ink products tested to the criteria of CID A-A-56032 that are applicable to printed circuit board applications. These products are made in the USA.
DDi Corp. (NASDAQ:DDIC) completed MIL-PRF-31032 assessment at its Anaheim, CA facility. The certification assessment was performed by the Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC) for compliance with specification MIL-PRF-31032 for rigid, multi-layer printed circuit boards manufactured with two types of materials: glass reinforced epoxy and glass reinforced polyimide. The MIL-PRF-31032 certification validates the highest standards of product quality assurance for aerospace and military production orders. DDi's Ohio and Virginia locations are also certified to MIL-PRF-31032.
Hallmark Circuits Inc. achieved ISO 9001:2008 and EN/JISQ/AS9100:2004 Quality Management System certification. The certification scope is valid for the manufacture of high-reliability defense, aerospace, medical, and commercial PCBs. The company also offers valued-added concurrent engineering and design-for-manufacturability review services.
Materials distributor Krayden Inc. received a certificate of registration for the International Standard AS9120:2002-10, ISO 9001:2008.
