IPC Tracks Global EMS Financial Metrics
April 7, 2009 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
BANNOCKBURN, IL IPC Association Connecting Electronics Industries launched its Global EMS Statistical Program to measure and track financial metrics quarterly for the worldwide electronics manufacturing services (EMS) industry. The first survey, for Q'01 2009 data, will be online this week. The deadline for survey responses as well as for participation in the 2009 program is April 29.
The surveys and reports will be available in English and Chinese. They will collect data confidentially from a large sample of EMS companies worldwide on financial and operational performance metrics, such as sales, orders, pre-tax earnings, cost of goods sold, inventory days of supply, cash-to-cash cycle, and return on value added. The aggregate results, along with analysis of trends and indicators, will be published in quarterly reports only for companies participating in the program. Results will be broken down by region and by company size wherever possible, given statistical integrity and confidentiality.
IPC conducts its online surveys using a secure server and adhering to strict confidentiality policies. IPC publishes only aggregate data; no company-specific data is shared.
Published within one week of the close of each quarter's survey, the Global EMS Statistical Program reports will be available only to participating companies. Participants are asked for their commitment to complete the quarterly surveys for one calendar year, so that a consistent sample of participating companies can be maintained throughout the year.
Participation in the Global EMS Statistical Program is free for IPC member companies. Potential participants are invited to contact Piyamart Holmgren, homupi@ipc.org. Nonmember companies may join the program for a fee of $1,200/year or by joining IPC, www.ipc.org/membership.
