IPC released power conversion standard IPC-9592; the ESD Association (ESDA) elected board members and officers for 2009; and SMTA is looking for papers for its 6th annual Medical Electronics Symposium.
IPC Association Connecting Electronics Industries published its first power conversion standard, IPC-9592, "Requirements for Power Conversion Devices for the Computer and Telecommunications Industries." The specification covers the complete range of power conversion product attributes, including product specifications and document requirements; design for reliability; design and qualification testing; and manufacturing conformance testing. IPC's power conversion devices standard subcommittee also is beginning work on revision A of the document. Its members will be presenting at an upcoming IPC-9592 conference in Irving, Texas, November 56. Subcommittee members will describe the items, requirements, and issues confronted and resolved in the development of the standard, and also the background and logic used to craft each of the standard's sections. IPC member companies may request a free copy of IPC-9592 within 90 days of its publication. For more information on the IPC-9592 conference or to register, visit www.ipc.org or contact Michelle Michelotti, professional development coordinator, at michmi@ipc.org.
