Fume Extraction for Benchtop Soldering
November 19, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
APEX, N.C. Cooper Hand Tools introduced the Weller volume fume extraction system WFE2ES with 99.5% filtration efficiency. It targets solder baths, micro soldering, and other applications where workers can be exposed to fumes and pollutants from assembly processes.
The tool includes an F5-class fine-dust filter, Puratex compact H12 HEPA filter with active carbon, and brushless turbine. It can be used with solder bath, hot-air soldering, micro-soldering, and adhesives applications to protect equipment users and nearby workers, according to Cooper Hand Tools. Lead-free alloys can increase the level of breathable airborne pollutants, the company asserts, adding that fume extraction creates a cleaner and safer soldering environment.
Accessories include extraction arms, exhaust hoods, extraction plates, and other tooling. The system also can be upgraded with an F7 dust filter and an H13 HEPA filter.
