High-throughput AOI System Debuts
September 24, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
HANOVER, Germany Viscom Inc. released the next-generation S3088-II high-speed automated optical inspection (AOI) machine, with redesigned operation, 8M sensor technology, and the company's EasyPro3D user interface.
The system inspects PCB assemblies (PCBAs) up to 450 × 350 mm, and components as small as 01005s. With 8M sensors, "on-demand high-resolution (-operation)" tooling enables 11.7- or 23.4-µm/pixel resolution for each analysis. Color evaluation is standard with the II generation.
An improved system design on the S3088 platform reportedly maintains stable performance at high speeds. Other updates include the EasyPro3D operator interface, with automatic parameter optimization (APO) and a 1,600+ component-types library, LIB2007. The library incorporates IPC standards for component and solder-joint types. For more information on the EasyPro3D software, see our SMTAI 2007 product preview.
The system suits post-print, post-placement, and post-reflow inspection. To learn more, visit www.viscom.com.
