Surface Mount Fuses for Consumer Electronics
September 19, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
SANTA ROSA, Calif. The USF 0402 surface mount fuse from Schurter Inc., is said to feature a Super Quick Acting (FF) characteristic at rated currents ranging from 0.375 to 4 A at 32 VDC; 5A at 24 VDC.
The USF 0402 offers overcurrent protection in dense secondary circuits, specifically those in consumer electronic devices such as battery operated electronic devices, laptops, cell phones, GPS devices, and PDAs. Because of its ability to dissipate less heat, the fuse reportedly provides increased reliability.
The Schurter USF range of fuses includes 0402, 0603, and 1206 sizes. A letter marking on each fuse indicates its current rating to ensure tracking of the proper fuse on the line. The fuse is UL 248-14 and cURus approved. It features gold-plated copper alloy terminals and is packaged in tapes of 1,000; 5,000; or 15,000 pieces.
