Morey Corporation Unveils Innovation Center
September 17, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
WOODRIDGE, Ill. The Morey Corporation unveiled the Richard and Gene Morey Innovation Center last week, a 27,500-square-foot advanced engineering development center focused on new product and process development. The facility houses lab and research areas as well as production equipment for electronics assembly.
The unveiling ceremony included introductions by Dana Morey, vice president; an address by Scott Morey, president; and remarks by special guests including Mark Pflederer, vice president of Caterpillar, and Congressman Peter Roskam, U.S. House of Representatives, Illinois 6the District. "Our new Richard and Gene Morey Innovation Center represents the culmination of a decade-long journey from an EMS provider to what we are today an original design manufacturer (ODM) and a world leader in our class," commented Scott Morey. "For 10 years, we have focused on enhancing and improving our engineering and development capabilities through experience. This new center leverages those efforts and is a testament to our company's dedication to continuous improvement, technology innovation, and product quality."
The Richard and Gene Morey Innovation Center is named for the second generation of Moreys to operate the company. The Morey Corporation began when William Morey started building radio test sets for Montgomery Ward in 1934.
