Panasonic, Digi-Key Celebrate 30 Years
February 1, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. and OSAKA, Japan Panasonic and its distributor Digi-Key Corporation commemorated a 30 year partnership with celebrations at Digi-Key's Thief River Falls facility and at Panasonic's Osaka headquarters.
These celebrations mark the importance of our corporate relationship, said Mark Larson, Digi-Key president. Panasonic is Digi-Key's top-selling supplier partner; Digi-Key is Panasonic's top distributor, according to the companies. The Thief River Falls celebration, complete with a picnic and Kagami Wari sake-barrel breaking took place in August 2006, with both companies' North American and Japan-based officials attending. Osaka's observance highlighted Japanese traditions in November last year, with attendees from various companies affiliated with Digi-Key and Panasonic.
Both companies commented that the celebration reaffirmed a strong international partnership. The 30-year partnership has produced notable sales growth, added Larson. Business relations between North American and Asian companies will be the topic of a forum at IPC Printed Circuit Expo/APEX/Designers Summit on February 21, 2007, titled "Asian-developed and Implemented Technologies and Business Practices You May Have Missed." The forum will investigate the culture divide often encountered in international business relations, and practices to develop profitable and productive partnerships, among other topics.
