November 13, 2006 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. U.S.-based market-intelligence firm iSuppli Corp. will merge with Data Garage Inc. of Japan, creating an analysis firm covering electronics industries in Japan and globally.
The merger combines iSuppli's global research operations with Data Garage's services, said Derek Lidow, chief executive officer of iSuppli. Akira Minamikawa, chief executive officer of Data Garage, added that the Japanese-oriented company will benefit from iSuppli's global mindset in the Americas, Europe, Japan, and other Asian regions.
Established in 1999, iSuppli provides market intelligence services for the EMS, OEM, and supplier communities in addition to servicing consumer electronics and media concerns. Founded in 2004, Data Garage offers analysis of semiconductor and automotive electronics markets, merger and acquisition advice, and research for financial markets. Its monthly DG Ratio comparable to a book-to-bill report is covered by the Nikkei Newspaper, Nikkei Microdevices, Reuters, and other publications. Data Garage was established by Minamikawa and Kun Soo Lee, principal analyst and member of the board.
