SMTAI Investing in Training
December 31, 1969 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
By David Raby
As a valued industry colleague, you will be interested in the details of our 2006 SMTA International conference program. Since 1984, the SMTA's unparalleled reputation in providing exceptional technical programming has continued to meet our goal of "providing education, training, and access to knowledge." Your colleagues on the SMTAI Technical Committee have built on this success as they developed the comprehensive program of tutorials, paper sessions, and symposiums being offered this fall.
We will once again co-locate SMTAI with the Assembly Technology Expo (ATExpo). The Chicago location is easily accessible from all areas. More than 200 companies have signed up to exhibit in the Electronics Assembly Pavilion (700 companies within the entire ATExpo).
Attracting and maintaining a qualified workforce is an issue faced by many in the industry. The SMTA believes that investing in training can pay big dividends in both productivity and savings, while also raising the standard of excellence for your company. This year's program focuses on the topics that are important in your business today lead-free reliability, SMT, harsh environments, BGA, CSP, flip chip, and process control. Our Emerging Technologies Summit will prepare you for the near future of MEMS/MOMS, nanotechnology, wireless, and RFID. Today's premier researchers will present over 120 papers. You will also find 26 full- and half-day courses, 10 of which are new this year. We will again present our renowned lead-free symposium, as well as a new event geared toward "Staying Competitive in the Global Market."
Be sure to visit our website for continuous conference updates. Our staff in Minneapolis will be happy to answer any questions you may have. We encourage you to share this information with your colleagues and plan to take advantage of the best technical conference available. We value your support of the SMTA and SMTAI. Please let us know how we can best meet your technical needs and challenges.
Celebrating 22 years of "sharing the knowledge" with our industry. We invite you to join us there September 24 28, 2006, at the Donald Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont, Ill.
