EU Certifications Available in U.S.

NEWTOWN, Conn. TUV Rheinland of North America, a compliance-testing and certification provider, will offer European certifications to North American component manufacturers. The company listed the German DIN standards, EMC electrical component testing, ENEC standards, and harmonized cable (HAR) as available certifications.
Customers of the certification provider requested the expanded service offering, said Dan Sullivan, division manager, product safety at TUV. To sell products in the European marketplace, North American companies must adhere to the certification standards of European Union (EU) member states, he added.
