ROCHESTER, N.Y. EMA Design Automation developed the RoHS CIS Library to store critical RoHS data from core component vendors supporting due diligence requirements by listing a part's compliance status.
While determining RoHS compliance requires checking a field, more information is needed to ensure manufacturability, proof of compliance, and compliance for environmental regulations outside the EU. The library includes fields such as RoHS Compliance Status, RoHS Compliant Alternate Part, Materials Datasheet, Certificates of Compliance, and Manufacturer's Data Sheet. During parts selection, engineering teams can select the correct parts for compliance in the design phase, reduce incompatible-parts issues in the manufacturing phase, and shorten the proof-of-compliance phase. The starter library is preconfigured with 1,500 parts and is expandable.
EMA Design Automation also offers EMA Engineering Data Management (EDM), a full Compliance by Design suite that provides data management tools, integrated computer-aided design (CAD) tools, and component engineering services for RoHS compliance, due diligence justification, and WEEE documentation.
