DENSO Moves Electronic Division, Builds Facility

TOKYO DENSO Corporation will build a facility on its Agui Plant premises (located in Agui-cho, Chita-gun, Aichi prefecture, Japan), relocating its DENSO ELECS Co., Ltd., headquarters and electronics product manufacturing plant from the DENSO Takatana Plant in Anjo Aichi prefecture.
Offering 12,800 square meters of space, the facility is expected to cost require an investment of 2.2 billion yen ($19M U.S.) to build. Construction is slated to begin in July, with a completion date set for March 2007. The company will begin producing barcode readers, IC card readers, and programmable controllers in the facility in May 2007.
After the relocation is complete, DENSO also plans to move the development division of DENSO WAVE to the Agui plant. As part of the move, all DENSO ELECS functions will be based at the Agui Plant, including production facilities for industrial robots.
