Aculight Appoints New Board of Directors Member

BOTHELL, Wash. — Laser technologies developer Aculight Corp. has named Dr. Thomas S. Hartwick to its Board of Directors, who has spent nearly 50 years in high-technology business management and R&D. His technology expertise spans lasers, electro-optics, electronic/microwave devices, and satellite systems.
Dr. Hartwick has served as a consultant for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), New Focus, Inc., Santa Barbara Infrared, Inc., The Boeing Co., and TRW, Inc., and on several corporate boards. He has held senior management positions within TRW, Hughes Aircraft Co., and The Aerospace Corp. He also has served on many government advisory boards, including the National Research Council's Board on Manufacturing and Engineering Design, the Department of Defense's Advisory Group on Electron Devices, and the Defense Science Board's Task Force on High Performance Microchip Supply. He has testified in several congressional hearings and authored numerous publications and reports as well. He is a national associate of the National Academy of Sciences and Engineering, and holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California.
