Certification Label Introduced for Machine Performance Verification
May 3, 2005 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
HUDSON, N.H. — CeTaQ Americas has introduced a new label certification system to verify machine performance specifications. The new labels will be affixed to every machine that undergoes CeTaQ's Machine Capability Analysis (MCA) testing.
"All production machines, from printers to chip shooters, in every different manufacturing facility, have different schedules for periodic MCA testing," says Mike Sivigny, general manager of CeTaQ Americas. "Older machines in higher-volume environments may require more frequent testing, and the demands of the application, such as assemblies with tight tolerances or tiny components, will also affect the frequency. This new labeling system gives facility managers an easy way to keep track of testing schedules, and clearly shows that the machine's performance has been independently verified."
For EMS providers, according to Sivigny, the label provides a highly visible indication to customers touring the facility that the EMS is quality-conscious and working to maintain high yields and low defect levels by staying on top of the process. For OEMs shipping a new machine, the label is a sign that the machine has been evaluated by an independent third-party testing specialist, and that capability claims of the manufacturer have been verified.
