Universal Extends Price Reductions to Generation 8 Machines
November 29, 2004 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Binghamton, N.Y.—Universal Instruments has announced price cuts for its Generation 8 insertion machines, having recently announced similar reductions for surface-mount placement platforms. The most popular insertion machine configurations will reduce in price from between 8 and 20%.
Attributing the price cuts to Universal's ongoing streamlining of business processes, and the success of its global supply chain, Gene Heiser, Universal's VP of sales and marketing, says, "In addition to the lower entry cost, the maintenance and consumable part costs will make the transition to the latest through-hole technology easy to justify."
"Generation 8 is the enduring standard for through-hole assembly equipment, and incorporates up-to-the-minute technology and operator interfaces for maximum ease of use. Now it is easier than ever to step up to the speed and reliability of the latest Generation 8 products," he adds.
The price cuts are applicable throughout the Generation 8 range, allowing customers to specify any configuration of axial or radial machines to meet their exact requirements, only at lower purchase price. This includes machines configured for manual or automatic board loading, single- or dual-head machines for axial and jumper wire, and expandable component sequencer/inserters from 20 to 220 stations in axial format, or 20 to 100 stations in radial format.
Combining the move with its objective to achieve global pricing consistency, which will simplify the purchasing process for its multi-national customers, Universal is applying its new prices in all geographic regions, effective immediately.
