Kester to hold Lead-free Mini-Clinic at Mexitrónica 2004
October 12, 2004 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Des Plaines, Ill.—As the WEEE and RoHS directives take effect in Europe, and with the increased production of lead-free products in Asia, lead-free assembly in North America is gaining momentum.
Kester understands that lead-free soldering is not a drop-in, and that careful selection of solder alloys, component-board finishes, flux chemistries and process optimization will be required. To maintain reliability and production yields, process engineers must gain the knowledge necessary to transition to lead-free.
Kester, in its continued efforts to assist the North American industry, will holding a Lead-free Mini-Clinic at the Mexitrónica Conference and Exhibition in Guadalajara, Mexico, from October 19-21, 2004.
Users and future users of lead-free will have the opportunity to ask industry experts pertinent questions to enable them to achieve lead-free assembly rapidly and efficiently.
Also at the Lead-free Mini-Clinic, Kester Lead-free Solutions will exhibit a complete line of lead-free products. Kester University's lead-free training program and consultancy services to assist engineers in the transition from leaded soldering will also be available.
Armando Torres will host the clinic, and will be present throughout show hours to assist visitors.
Visitors are encouraged to bring their boards, components and/or soldered assemblies to discuss their lead-free transition issues.
