Honeywell Announces Price Increase for Electronic Chemicals Products
June 16, 2004 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Sunnyvale, Calif. — Honeywell announces that the company will be implementing price increases between 4 to 14 percent for part of its Electronic Chemicals product line.
The price increases are due to volatility and increasing prices for hydrocarbon-based products that have resulted in elevated raw material prices, distribution costs and utilities for products supplied to the semiconductor industry.
Solvents including isopropyl alcohol and acetone, among others, are some of the most heavily impacted with raw materials increasing 20 to 35 percent. For other products, manufacturing and distribution costs have increased by approximately 5 to 10 percent as a result of the higher energy prices. At the same time, a shortage in raw material for phosphoric acid has consequently increased the price for phosphoric acid more than 20 percent.
Honeywell Electronic Materials will implement the price increases effective July 1, 2004, to partially compensate for the increased supply costs. Price increases will vary based on product and package type, distribution, volumes, and additional services provided.Honeywell International is a $23 billion diversified technology and manufacturing leader, serving customers worldwide with aerospace products and services; control technologies for buildings, homes and industry; automotive products; turbochargers; and specialty materials. Honeywell Electronic Materials, a unit of Honeywell Specialty Materials, is a leading material supplier to the semiconductor industry developing and manufacturing a broad line of products utilized in the production of integrated circuits.
