ElectroniCast Publishes Pump Laser Diode Modules Forecast
March 4, 2004 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
San Mateo, Calif. — According to ElectroniCast's new Global Market Forecast, the global consumption value of pump laser diode modules will reach $255 million by the year 2008.
During years 2008 through 2013, dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM), "Green-Field" (new-builds), and DARK FIBER will cause an increase in the deployment of optical fiber amplifiers (OFAs), using pump laser diode modules.Last year, the use of pump laser diode modules reached just more than $70 million in telecommunication applications. Driven primarily by the deployment of OFAs in China, the Japan/Pacific Rim pump laser diode module market will increase in value to a leading $424 million in year 2013.
This ElectroniCast study provides a detailed analysis of several telecommunication, specialty/instrumentation, private enterprise, military/aerospace and cable television applications. Founded in 1981, ElectroniCast is a world leader in forecasting for the fiber optic, optoelectronic and photonic industries. For more information, visit www.electronicast.com.
